Blue Fig Studio

To date this work has taken me longer than any other. The research on the countries with the most displaced people, the background of the American quilt pattern I laid out as I would have if I were sewing, the projection of the kuffiya pattern traced and embedded into the background, the drawing of each country’s national flower and a landmark, the inking, the penciling, and the painting, all came together requiring reflection. Thank you to those who participated and shared their stories of displacement with me. You’re all an inspiration.
